Pathfinders: Preserving a Path

Over the last few months, our Heart Healthy Workers have been doing an excellent job at encouraging the children of their villages to participate in the Pathfinders Program, where they are leading them to a continuous desire for learning. After browsing through some incredible stories, I remembered why it is so important to set aside time to engage with and get to know our children by participating in the fun while also demonstrating the importance of serving others. (Philippians 2:4; 1 John 3:18; Matthew 25:40). We are called to gently lead those who have been entrusted to us. (1Peter 5:3). When we can humble ourselves --and allow children room to explore, create, and question, we learn from them --which allows for clearer insight on how to meet their spiritual & emotional needs. (Matthew 18:10; Mark 10:14). These simple --yet significant moments during awareness classes and Pathfinders Programs can be life changing for many of the children who attend. Our HealthCare Workers are paving the way for a generation that will cherish these creative, traditional skills --and biblical teachings that are deeply rooted in the foundations of faith which may very well lead them to our Redeemer, Jesus Christ-- with hope and joyful wonder.
